OLAP Formation Center
To recall, the announcement of Rev. Fr. Mario Sanchez regarding the parish Pastoral Council's acquisition of a two story – property which would be the parish Formation Center was met with excitement and thunderous applause. It was a heavenly moment. For the parishioners, it was a gift from God on that glorious day, March 25, 2003, the Feast of the Annunciation. After 12 years of patient waiting since the establishment of Our Lady of the Annunciation as a chaplaincy and eventually as a parish, the longtime dream of having a formation house would at last be realized.

And so on November 18, 2003 the OLAP Formation Center was blessed by His Excellency, Most Reverend Teodoro Bacani Jr. D.D., first Bishop of the Diocese of Novaliches, formally opening it to the people of God. Priests, religious sisters, representatives from the different mandated organizations, and distinguished guest witnessed the momentous blessing and dedication. The warm glittering Christmas lights blended well with the smiling faces all over the place as if there was a ray of light radiating the once dark corner of Diamond St. and E. Rodriguez Ave.

Since its opening, the Formation Center has been a testimony of the luminous coming together of the Gospel and the lives of the parishioners who respond to God's call to live prophetically as Christ lived to witness as He did, to communicate Him who loves, serves, and saves. Here, the parishioners have found the fulfillment of the Church's mission in the word to evangelize, with which the people of God are being called to share by virtue of Baptism and Confirmation.

The response is be made in the Center for the Parish Renewal Experience, Catechism classes, recollections, and other parish activities that call for evangelization are held. It is here where the OLAP parishioners share their insights and experiences; encounter His healing and redemption; animate the day-to-day living with His spirit; and find joy and celebrate because they have the Lord to cling to for solace and liberation. Not only does it promote a sense of belonging to the parish as a family, but also an involvement with the larger Roman Catholic community and the Universal Church.

It only goes to show that in times of uncertainties and difficulties, the more the people need a God to take hold of their life. The more the community should move with zeal and swiftness to effectively shape society and the world to the image of the Kingdom. And the OLAP Formation Center is certainly the vehicle for the parishioners as pilgrim Church to bring about the reign of God in their midst.

Indeed, the Formation Center is the bridge to one's spirituality and enrichment, as its brochure says. It is a venue where the people can go to deepen their relationship with their God, and to make alive and attractive the Christian presence that is very much needed to influence, inspire and direct the world according to His plan. Reading the “signs of the times, “ the Center's facilities incorporate a variety of media, technology and arts as Christian formation and education resources.

With this in mind, the parish would also like to humbly share this gift from God by inviting non-parishioners to conduct their retreats, seminars, teachings, recollections, conferences, and workshops in the OLAP Formation Center. Interested parties may contact the OLAP Formation Center / PPC office (Tel No. 455-5014), Parish office (Tel No. 454-9281).

Though the Formation Center, the OLAP parishioners have proved time and again that the seemingly hubristic hope become a great leap towards reality if they entrust everything to God and in turn do their part together. With this faith and the intersection of Mary, our Lady of the Annunciation, they know that they should “not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. “ (Galatians 6:9)
