Vision:
The people of God in the Archdiocese of Novaliches especially the poor journey with Mary empowered that transformed and renewed by the Holy Spirit, discerning the sign of the times in the light the gospel and the Social teachings of the Church and committing talent time and treasure to establish a more just loving human, A peaceful society for the realization of the kingdom of God.
Mission:
To realize that our vision we are, is that SSDM is to commit ourselves to be empoeered together with the poor and Chritian charity , protect and care for the environment as stewards of God's creations.
Goals:
Orientational – efficient and effective social change agents through an integrated formation program for all levels in the Archdiocesan district and parishes and for all groups (clergy, lay and religious) involved in delivering social and development programs.
Operational – responsive in social service and development programs in mission areas; increase the awareness of the urban poor on socio-economic issues.
Organizational – a solid, well-organized participative and functional social Services and Development Ministry at all levels.
Financial – adequate funds to implement the programs and services of the SSDM
Objectives:
- to strengthen the SSDM
- to intensify cooperation among the parishes and the diocese
- to form and develop group of trainors to deepen commitment and leadership capabilities of SSDM coordinators
- to provide technical skills for specific programs
- to build teamwork camaraderie among SSDM volunteers
- to assist the diocese of Novaliches with its SSDM program
- to generate funds to be able to sustain its programs and services.
- to establish networks for additional resources on the following programs: STP, scholarship, health care, CI, ER, prison apostolate
- to continue assistance of crisis and emergency relief to urban poor families
- to improve the economic status of urban poor families by providing more employment opportunities
Activities:
Weekly dental and medical services – with the help of volunteer parish dentists and doctors and volunteers from UERM.
The group had just finished its Livelihood Training Seminar that includes puto, puto pao, and siomai.
